2009 CDC Project Management Summit

The first annual CDC Project Management Summit will be a full-day event open to all CDC employees and contractors who register by Wednesday, February 3, 2009. The Summit will be held on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Global Communications Center on CDC’s Roybal Campus. It will provide an opportunity for the CDC community to come together, learn about, and discuss important topics related to project management. The Summit will include plenary sessions, multiple speaker presentations, and concurrent sessions.

The focus of this years Summit is on the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) Framework. Summit objectives include:

  • Providing an overview of project management topics expected to affect CDC in 2009
  • Discussing project management best practices and related policies, standards, and processes
  • Reporting on Agency and Center Information Resources Governance activities
  • Demonstrating how the CDC Unified Process can serve as a valuable tool and resource to program and project managers

Those attending will earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) required by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to obtain and maintain Project Management Professional (PMP) Credentials. This year’s Summit agenda is outlined below.

CDC UNIFIED PROCESS PRESENTATIONS

The CDC UP offers a short overview presentation to any CDC FTE or Non-FTE group. Presentations are often performed at your location, on a day of the week convenient for your group, and typically take place over lunch structured as one hour lunch-and-learn style meeting.
