
6th Annual Birth Defects Monitoring and Prevention in Georgia Partners Meeting (Session B)

There are 3 overall objectives for this educational offering. At the end of this meeting, participants will have the knowledge and skills to:
1. Describe the partners critical to the accurate and reliable monitoring and reporting of birth defects in metropolitan Atlanta and throughout the state.
2. Describe the clinical care and special educational services for individuals with orofacial clefts.
3. Describe the surgical treatment, and transition to adulthood issues, for individuals with orofacial clefts.
4. Describe the family perspective on caring for an individual with an orofacial cleft. Web on Demand TARGET AUDIENCE: Epidemiologists, medical records abstractors, health care providers who work with individuals with orofacial clefts PREREQUISITES: Attendees will be affiliated with the Metropolitan Atlanta Congenital Defects Program. They may be staff from participating hospitals, clinics or laboratories, or have familiarity or experience with birth defects monitoring in Georgia.
