  How do I become a new participant? Top
 
  • Select the New Participant link on the Home page.
  • Complete information to sign-up as a New Participant; select Submit.
    Red asterisks (*) denote a required field.
  • A screen will display for you to type a login name of your choice;
    select Submit.
  • Your temporary password will be sent to your designated e-mail.
    • You can open a new tab or minimize the screen and open a new window to check your e-mail.
    • The e-mail will include your login name and temporary password.
    • The temporary password will always include an exclamation point at the end and is case sensitive.
    • You can copy/paste the temporary password from your e-mail to the temporary password box in TCEO.
  • At the Login-Step 2 screen, enter your login name and temporary
    password located on the email (copy/pasting eliminates errors); select Submit.
  • At Choose Permanent Password-Step 3 screen, enter a permanent password of your choice (this password will replace your temporary password) and confirm the permanent password; select Submit.
  • Your account has now been established. Please keep your login name and new permanent password in a safe place. Once you complete a course and receive CE, your transcript will be associated with this login information.
  • Please select Search from the left hand menu to locate a course.

  What types of CE are available to participants? Top
 
  • For physicians (CME)
    CDC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) to provide AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for physicians.
  • For nurses (CNE)
    CDC is accredited as a provider of Continuing Nursing Education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation.
  • For pharmacists (CPE)
    CDC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (CPE).
  • For Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES)
    CDC is a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
  • For All Health Professionals (CEU)
    CDC has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102.
  • For Veterinarians (AAVSB/RACE)
    CDC is accredited by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards, Registry of Approved Continuing Education to provide AAVSB/RACE contact hours.
  • For Certified Public Health Professionals (CPH)
    CDC is an approved provider of CPH Recertification Credits by the National Board of Public Health Examiners. Effective October 1, 2013, the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE) accepts continuing education units (CEU) for CPH recertification credits from CDC.  Please select CEU as your choice for continuing education when registering for a course on TCEOnline. Learners seeking CPH should use the guidelines provided by the NBPHE for calculating recertification credits.  For assistance please contact NBPHE at http://www.NBPHE.org.
 
  What if I forgot my login or password?  Top
  If you know your Login name, please use the Forgot Your Password? link on the Home page located under the Participant Login link.  Enter your Login name and select Submit.

If you do not know your Login name or password, e-mail and request a password reset. Please give your first and last name and the e-mail that is associated with the account.

Once you have requested your password, you will be sent a temporary password in an e-mail to reset your account. Important information you need to know:

  • The temporary password is case-sensitive.
  • The temporary password includes an exclamation point (!) at the end.
  • The temporary password can include some difficult to decipher characters. We recommend copy/pasting the password from the email into the temporary password box on the TCEOnline webpage.
    • To copy - 1) highlight the password text (no blank spaces) with mouse and 2) select the Ctrl + C buttons
    • To paste - 1) Click inside the temporary password box and 2) select Ctrl + V buttons
If you do not receive you password reset within 25 minutes, please check your “Spam/Junk” folders before requesting another password reset.

  How do I select a course? Top
 
  • Login to TCEOnline
  • After successful login, the Participant Services menu displays. Select Search and Register.
  • The Online Search page displays. Enter a course number or keywords into the Keyword Search
  • Click on the course name, and the course information page will display. Scroll down to Register Here. Select the type of CE that you would like to receive and then select Submit.
  • The next page requests demographic information. New participants are required to answer the demographic questions. Returning participants please verify this information and select Submit.
  • A message will display thanking you for registering for the course. If you have already completed the course you may select the option to take the evaluation.
  • If you have not completed the course, you will be directed back to Participant Services. Under Evaluations and Tests you may access the course detail page, the course link, or the evaluation and/or posttest after completing the course.
  • Complete the evaluation and Submit. If a posttest is required it will follow the evaluation. A record of your course completion and your CE certificate will be posted in the Transcript and Certificate section, located on the Participant Services page.

Additional Information
  • Keyword Search - the keyword search will search for course numbers such as WB1799 or WD1850 and key words such as epidemiology or vaccines.
  • CDC Course Code - If you have a CDC Course Code, please click on CDC Courses at the bottom right hand side of the search page. Once this page opens, enter your course code and select the View button. Your course link will be displayed.
  • Verification Code - If your course includes a Verification Code, it is usually located near the end of the course content. Once you receive your verification code, you will use it in TCEO as proof of course completion.
    • Select Evaluations and Tests from the Participants Services page.
    • Select the correct category for the training or conference you completed.
    • Locate the course title and in the column Evaluation/Posttest, select the link that is shown. You will be asked for your verification code to move forward. Once you have input the code, you will be able to begin the evaluation and posttest.

 

  Is this a secure site? Top
This site is a secure website that uses encryption to protect your information. The web server is located at CDC. The login and account information for participants is contained on secure, encrypted pages.

There is a 20 minute timeout period if there is no activity on the page once logged in. No information or progress will be saved if your login period times out.

  What are cookies? Top
The TCEOnline system uses cookies, and requires that your browser is set to accept them. A cookie is a small piece of information that a web server adds to your browser’s memory. An installed cookie is harmless and is incapable of compromising your computer or your personal privacy. It contains information which represents your session in TCEO. Cookies are not stored permanently on your computer. Your browser is most likely set to accept cookies; if not, you will not be able to proceed past the login page.
