Partner Management
VVC is not usually acquired through sexual intercourse. Therefore, treatment of sex partners is not recommended, but it may be considered in women who have recurrent infection. A minority of male sex partners may have balanitis. They may benefit from treatment with topical antifungal agents to relieve symptoms.
Patient Counseling and Education
Patient counseling and education should cover the nature of disease, transmission issues, and risk reduction.
