Self-Study STD Module - Vaginitis

The Self-Study STD ModuleVaginitis is a web-based training course designed to guide clinicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of vaginitis. This module is based on the STD curriculum developed by the National Network of STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers.

This module provides an overview of vaginitis, including common causes, diagnosis, and evaluation. The diagnosis and management of trichomoniasis, candidiasis, and bacterial vaginosis are covered in detail.

Course Objectives

After completing this course you will be able to:

  1. Describe the epidemiology of the three major types of vaginitis in the U.S.
  2. Describe pathogenesis relating to the three major types of vaginitis.
  3. Discuss the clinical manifestations of the three major types of vaginitis.
  4. Identify common methods used in the diagnosis of the three major types of vaginitis.
  5. List the CDC-recommended treatment regimens for the three major types of vaginitis.
  6. Summarize prevention strategies for the three major types of vaginitis.
