The Self-Study STD Module – Chlamydia is a web-based training course designed to guide
clinicians in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chlamydial infection.
This training module is based on the STD curriculum developed by the
National Network of STD/HIV
Prevention Training Centers.

After completing this course you will be able to:
- Describe the epidemiology of chlamydial infection in the U.S.
- Describe the pathogenesis of C. trachomatis.
- Discuss the clinical manifestations of chlamydial infection.
- Identify the common methods used in the diagnosis of chlamydial infection.
- List the CDC-recommended treatment regimens for chlamydial infection.
- Summarize appropriate prevention counseling messages for patients with chlamydial infection.
- Describe public health
measures for the prevention of chlamydia.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited
by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education
for physicians.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates
this educational activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA
Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the
activity.
Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)The
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited as
a provider of Continuing Nursing Education by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
This activity provides 1.25 contact hours.
Continuing Education Units (CEU)
The CDC has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the
International Association for Continuing Education and
