Goal
To improve health care providers' ability to recognize,
diagnose, and report smallpox disease.
Objectives
After the satellite broadcast, participants will be
able to:
- Describe the epidemiology and clinical characteristics of smallpox.
- Differentiate between smallpox and other rash illnesses.
- Describe the indications for smallpox vaccine in both prerelease and postrelease situations.
- Describe the recommended management of a suspected smallpox case.
Target Audience
Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care workers serving in private offices,
hospitals, and public health settings.
