Separation and Detention of Persons for the Purpose of Controlling the Spread of Communicable Diseases
spacer

The CDC Public Health Law Program is building a "roadmap" of state laws that relate to the separation and detention of persons for the purpose of controlling the spread of communicable diseases.   The roadmap is intended to serve as a quick and easy way to locate all statutes, regulations, cases, and other state law that are related to this subject.  The goal of the Program is to gradually add the laws of all 50 U.S. states plus D.C. and New York city.

The following version of the roadmap is presented as a prototype of the site, so that users may use the database and comment on its usefulness. Only a few states are included currently.  Other states will be added over time. Please send comments to Frederic E.Shaw, MD, JD at fshaw@cdc.gov.

The legal citation format used in the roadmap is drawn from the preferences of state public health counsel and may not be consistent with the Bluebook.  Materials are intended to be current as of the following dates: Alabama 8/5/04; Massachusetts 5/13/04; South Dakota 8/5/04; Texas 6/4/04.  Before using these materials, please consult the disclaimer below.
