Public Health Law Association 1st Annual Poster Session With support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and GlaxoSmithKline, the Board of the Public Health Law Association is pleased to present the 1st Annual PHLA Public Health Law Poster Session. After an overwhelming response to the call for abstracts, eighteen abstracts from fifteen universities around the United States and Canada, selected through a competitive peer-reviewed process, will be presented during The Public's Health & the Law in the 21st Century 4th Annual Partnership Conference. The exciting research topics selected by the student authors cover a wide-range of issues at the intersection of public health, law, policy, and ethics and address topics from state laws on obesity treatment to SARS to the World Health Regulations to the challenges of domestic violence in rural areas. The interdisciplinary topics represent the diversity of disciplines of the student authors who come from graduate programs in law, public health, criminal justice, nursing, health policy, and the Fulbright Program. The posters are on display in the Upper Ballroom Lobby throughout the conference and the authors will be present during the Tuesday, June 14th exhibit breaks at 9:45AM and 11:00AM to explain their research and answer any questions. In addition to the student authors, PHLA thanks the following individuals for their contribution to the Poster Session: Angela McGowan, J.D. , M.P.H.
