Dengue Clinical Case Management Course (Web-based)
Course Number: WB1957
This educational activity is designed to increase knowledge in epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and develop a competency in the management of patients suspected of infection with the dengue virus. This training includes opportunities for learner interaction throughout 5 modules, including scenarios based on real patient dengue cases, knowledge checks, and video animations. Participants are required to access the course, and complete an online posttest and course evaluation. A certificate of completion is granted upon successful completion of the course. The time to complete the course is approximately 4 hours.
TARGET AUDIENCE: The target audience includes osteopathic physicians, medical physicians, medical assistants, medical students, physician assistants, interns, and medical residents.
Minimal prerequisite skills and knowledge for participants should include, but are not limited to:
• Basic knowledge of human physiology, infectious disease, and human immunology.
• Basic ability to interpret laboratory result, and understanding of patient care and management (clinic or hospital-based care), epidemiologic concepts, and public health infectious disease surveillance.
