Yellow Fever Vaccine: Information for Health Care Professional Advising Travelers (Web-based)
Course Number: WB1445
This course is comprised of two lessons. Lesson one provides background information about yellow fever including sections on the history, ecology of the disease, and information about the vaccine itself. This lesson is intended to provide the information a practitioner would need to determine if a patient should get the vaccine and if they were eligible to receive it. The lessons are created in an online format that the participant can navigate through at their own pace.
Lesson two instructs learners on the pre-travel consultation, storage and administration of yellow fever vaccine, and country entry requirements for yellow fever vaccine. Additionally, it provides instructions for becoming a certified yellow fever vaccine provider and how to maintain that certification. This lesson builds on information presented in lesson one by instructing participants how to include the history and epidemiology of yellow fever into decision making in their practice through the pre-travel consultation.
Both lessons are presented in an online format that allows participants to navigate and complete the course at their own pace. At the end of the course, participants will be asked a series of multiple choice questions as a means of self assessment. After completing the course, the participant will be able to register for continuing education credits by clicking on a link provided.
