The Eastern Quadrant - Sylvie Ratelle PTC of New England, Region II PTC NYC, Region III PTC, Rochester NY PTC and the NYS PTC - is offering this training to healthcare providers who test and screen STD/HIV patients. This training will provide additional knowledge about the various viral tests available for use in the United States and the pros and cons of herpes, human Papillomavirus and HIV testing will be addressed. TARGET AUDIENCE: Target audience would consist of clinicians who examine or see patients with Sexually Transmitted Infections. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, and other health care professionals MATERIALS: The participant will need to have access to a computer that has speakers so they can hear the presenter as they watch the slide show. If they want to ask questions, they will need to type their questions in the chat room. PREREQUISITES: The participants will be expected to have a basic background in public health, to be skilled in offering sexually transmitted infections (STI) clinical care. ADDITIONAL INFO: This is a free course to any clinician that would like to learn more about the various Bacterial STI tests available.
